i might have arthritis. i get pains in my chest and ribs..
sometimes my hands relly hurt
my feet click all the time and are proper painfull .. same with my knees..

how old would you think i was…?

is it just my genes? because both my parents have realllyy bad joints and arthritis and stuff…

why am i so unlucky.. lol

and what are symptoms of arthritis?

because im not going to the doctors untell im atleast 60% sure there is something wrong.. lol
and right now.. the right side o my ribs is very painfull and i cant stretch too much….

this problem of weak bones in her old age?

Yesterday while I was taking my dogs for a walk, my German Shepherd pup started to limp on his right, front leg. We walked back home and let him go to sleep and hoped he would be better in the morning. When I woke up, he was still limping on his leg so my mom and dad took him to the vet while I went to school. I came back from school and my dad told me the veterinarian took x-rays of Chico’s (my dog) leg. They said his leg wasn’t developing as it should. He is only 8 months old so I don’t think he has arthritis. It this a common problem in German Shepherds? Veterinary advice will be most helpful. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
I was just wondering, “Tom Joad”, if your avatar and “about me” is refering to “The Grapes of Wrath” movie. I was just watching it the other day in school. Anyways, just so I don’t get off the subject too much, Chico is still limping but is still able to play and eat. We are giving him vet perscribed pain killers, though.
********Chico hasn’t eaten for the whole day so far. It’s like his appetite has gone down. All he does now is lay around the yard all day and I get worried about him. We’ve been giving him some vet perscribed pain killers and it seems that those are what give him the side-effects. Tomorrow, (3/18/06) I’m gonna take him to the vet and tell them to make my dog better ‘cuz I can’t stand to see him limping around.

Has anyone out there had successful herniated disk surgery to there lumbar spine? I have 3 herniated disks, one bulging, one dehydrated, of the 5 disks of the lumbar. I have spinal stenosis, osteoporosis, osteo arthritis, and scoliosis in my spine also. Tell me your stories? What do you think I should do? Who was was your doctor or what was your treatment. Please help. This pain is terrible. I’m afraid to get surgery.
I had an MRI and went to a back specialist, he wants to operate on one disk, add a piece of bone. I refused, because a friend had this done and it didn’t help and she doesn’t have all my other problems. I am getting a hump on my back and I never had an MRI of my whole spine.I have multiple other medical problems, heart disease,had a heart attack, diabetes, osteo-arthritis, colitis, fibromyalgia, bleeding ulcers, and depression. I am sick of pain. I have had multiple surgeries one just this summer. I am still recovering.

I am only 31 and am concerned about arthritis since my Grandma had it and now my mom does in her knees. What can I do to help prevent myself from getting it? Will walking daily help?

I had some blood work done 6 months ago and my EBV titer was in the 500’s (normal 0-99). The blood work was repeated 2 weeks ago and it was nearly 2000! The only symptoms I have had are extreme fatigue and aches (especially neck area). This was ordered by my rheumatologist (newly diagnosed with arthritis). Is there a connection between the arthritis and EBV?

Is it ok to treat an older dog with arthritis with human formula gludosamine/chondroitin. If so, what dosage is recommended for a 12 year old 60 lb dog in otherwise good health?
