But i cant find studies, can you help out. Basically i need to know the general frequency, intensity, practicality, and safety issues of aquatic therapy

I have had chronic pain for 8-9 years (I’m 21 yrs. old). It started in my legs and then spread throughout my body until it was head to toe muscle pain, and joint pain. The joint pain was diagnosed as Gout (an acute form of arthritis in which uric acid builds up in the body and forms as chrystals on the joints). The joint pain has reduced alot after treatment. But I have yet to find out what the muscle pain is and get it treated. I thought a while back it was fibromyalgia, I need to ask my docter about that come to think of it. When I was in junior high I went to a physical therapist and they said I had very and unusally tight leg muscles…but that’s all they could determine at that time.
So does anyone know the list of the causes of chronic muscular pain? It is very debilitating and it hurts to do anything. The pain increases when I stand (can’t for very long), walk, sit, even lie down.
Thanks,
Amy

Back in May I got a pain in my middle & ring finger & down my left hand, which is the one I write with. At first I thought I had sprained it somehow but couldn’t remember how. I went to the doctors after a couple of weeks as it got no better, even after bandaging it & taking ibruprofen for swelling and pain. The doctor suggested I may have tendonitits & referred me to the orthopedic clinic of the hospital. I have had x-rays & been told nothing to be seen there. I had a blood test to check for rhuematoid arthritis, which came back clear & then I had a ultrasound which is when I got told I definately do not have tendonitis.
The symptoms I have are pain in fingers & hand, sometimes spreading up arm. Can not do my job (I work in a call centre) because I can not write & can only type with my right hand. On bad days I can not even carry a cup of coffee from one room to the other. Has anybody else had anything similar? What did it turn out to be? Has it been sorted? Thanks

We have an 15 year old golden retriever. Her back legs have bad arthritis and she can hardly get up, We have hard wood flooring all over so its so hard for her to get outside to the bathroom. She hardly eats anymore, She will nibble on food once a day. And she will just sleep the rest of the day. She is over-weight too. Its really sad to watch. So what should we do?

I put my sweet 8 year old beagle to sleep two days ago. I miss her terribly, and am currently in the denial stage. I feel like I killed my best friend, and am hating myself for it.

She had moderate hip dysplasia, severe arthritis, and a mammary tumor the size of a softball. We opted against surgery, there’s a long story there, but we following her with X-Rays and bloodwork every 4-6 weeks.

The beginning of last week our dog began to decline. She had some confusion, difficulty with stairs, not as perky, slight diarrhea, some rhythmic vibrating, not quite shaking. We took her in again for a check up, as we were nearly due anyway. So, after another round of X-Rays, vet was fairly certain it was metastatic, it looked like we had colonies near her heart and lungs. Vet thought we were looking at a few months with her. She prescribed Rimadyl. Since we’d need bloodwork in just two week, and it had been fine five weeks earlier, we did not do bloodwork this time.

I held off on the Rimadyl to see what her diarrhea would do. It was hit or miss. Fine, diarrhea, fine again, etc. Finally, she seemed to be in even more pain on Sunday, and she hadn’t had any diarrhea, so I tried the Rimadyl. She started vomiting three hours later and never stopped. She even vomited plain water. She was shaking more often, standing up, turning in a circle, laying back down. Began with bloody stools. She was very unhappy, looked sad, eyes were tearing a lot. Had trouble getting on and off couch. Peeing anywhere, not like loss of function, but like confused and oh, crap, I have to pee, so she’d squat.

Once my husband was home we took her to the emergency vet. We decided against a consultation, and had her put to sleep, while holding her in our arms. Now I worry we were hasty. She was just so miserable, and to be honest, I had a hard time seeing her in so much pain. I know we could have tried IV fluids, etc, seen if she came around, and now I’ll never know if we’d have had our last couple months.

I am in shock. It happened so quickly. So I ask you all, would you have tried more treatment? I know, an unfair question, but would love your honest opinions. I wish we had done an autopsy. I’d love to know what actually made her that sick that day. Cancer, the meds, etc.

i have a half coley and half germansheperd. He has arthritis on his back legs and he struggles to jump up on bed and jumping of it. we’ve just spent £800 for an operation on him so were skint da now to buy painkillers for him at vet.

Anyone got any advice how i could ease the pain a bit for him until we get painkillers.

Thx fir yir helps. xxx
‘Forever blackeyed’ How kin a take him tae da vet if it like £40 fir 5 painkiller u spaz F*ck. Read wa i said!!
the operation had nothing to do with his legs. he got operation coz his stomach wasnt producing acid to digest food so he was constantly sick. we didnt mention anything to the vet about his legs coz he wasnt that bad. he could jump about and that but he just got worse a few days ago.
Im not writing an english essay, im quickly asking a question…so…i don’t need perfect grammar and correct spelling and punctuation. Just wastes time.

I have been diagnosed with PLS. My spinal fluid was examined for Lyme and the results were negative. Upon further research I found that pink eye or an eye discharge (which I have) is a Lyme disease symptom along with arthritis (which I also have in my lower back). My homeopath is vehement that I have Lyme disease (told him he was a quack). My neurologists say no since I don’t exhibit its symptoms other than muscle spasticity and slurred speech. Does anyone out there have any information that might help me.

Well, as the question title says, I’m a masochist. I derive sexual pleasure from pain, but I have several medical conditions that render me in constant chronic pain of the joints and most muscles. *This* pain, by contrast, is not pleasureable at all. The pain I get from constant falls, accidental cuts, and burns is VERY…distracting, shall we say.

I have early-onset arthritis, spasticity in all muscles (from cerebral palsy), and constant joint dislocations (from a condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome – hypermobile type, and an extreme expression, at that). Those are the main conditions causing my chronic pain, among others. I also have Sensory Integration Dysfunction, where, basically, my body processes ALL sensory input differently (touch, smell, pain, temperature, the whole kit and caboodle), and I’m wondering if that may play a role…

I’m wondering what the disconnect is, between the pain that causes me pleasure, and the pain that is simply irritating and…well, for lack of a better word, *painful*? I have a very high pain tolerance, but honestly, I’m starting to find this disconnect between the two frustrating.

Thoughts, anyone? Advice on how to maybe…integrate the two a little better, or maybe on how to manage the irritating pain better? I currently take ibuprofen and treat as needed with heat, but there is no real treatment for any of the underlying causes of my pain. I’m currently exploring more advanced painkiller options with my doctor (or trying to – the man won’t discuss it with me, for whatever reason – he doesn’t know about my masochism). Neurontin is high on my list.

Thanks for your time! :)
