my friend has been diagnosed with intercostal arthritis…
she has had severe chest pains 4 nearly a year…
does any1 know what it is? she is only 16 so im a little worried about it. is is bad? will it go away? whats the treatment?

Dear friends,

Our beloved FOXIE, was recently diagnosed with CRF and the prognosis seems to be poor. We are willing to do everything we can to save our little Foxie!!

Is she in the final stage? We got the diagnosis just 10 days ago, but today when I have learnt about CRF, I think there were signs already during the summer. Her way of movement was stiff and Foxie doesn’t really like to be caressed over her back – probably bone pain….
I thought it was arthritis, but the vet examined her and found no such evidence. Unfortunately, no blood test was done.

We estimate Foxie’s age to something between 4-8 years old.

Her test result:
Creatinine 954
Urea high 41
Phosphate high 4.3
Blood pressure high 170
HCT 19.2%

The ultrasound shows that the kidneys are damaged, but to our veterinarian’s surprise, they looked better than expected with a crea of 950. A urine test tells us the concentration is ok. However, I don’t think he did a urine culture.

She is eating every day, not so much, but app 60 g of wetfood per day. We give special diet, but also normal food. Anything to make her eat!! Foxie weighs 3.8 kg today. She weight 4.1 kg one month ago.

Foxie has been given intravenous fluids 200-350 ml per day for 8 days now, she is also medicating for high blood pressure, Norvasc 5mg Amiodipin 1/4 of tablett per day, and Renalzin (phosphate binder).

After 7 days on fluids and medicine, the latest test results show no change….I think she is getting weaker every day, Her appetite is reduced and she sleeps most. It breaks my heart to see her like this.

Is there anything more to do? Any new treatments? Any other medicines we should give her? Should we continue with the daily intravenous fluids? We don’t medicate for the anemia, even though it is very low. Do you think we should and how?

Do you think medicine for anemia can help? Antibiotics? Or is it time to say goodbye, until we meet again…We want her to have a good cat life. If there is nothing more to do, it is be time for her to go to a better place.

We are willing to do everything to help Foxie and would be so grateful for your advice.

Hey guys. My mom is currently taking Levothyroxine and she has arthiritis.
We were wondering if she could take Tylenol Arthritis Pain without it reacting without her Levothyroxine. I told her I would check on here with the wonderful people of Yahoo Answers before we call the pharmacy.
Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks guys (:

Its in his Rear legs, the cat weighs 14 pounds.

I am 16 and i have hashimoto’s thyritis (auto immune thyroid disease). my mother has the same condition but I do not know the cause of her’s, she also has rheumatoid arthritis, does this increase my chances of having rheumatoid arthritis?

Hello. I am a 28 year old female and have a few questions and appreciate any response. I have been having numbness in my legs particulary from the back of my knee/leg down thru my toes where it is tingly, numb, and throbbing pain that will last all day off and on. Somtimes, I can be walking and my legs go numb to where i cant move and have to stand still till i can walk again or drag myself to something to lean on. They did a EMG and it came back normal, so then they did bloodwork and said that my Sed Rate was 47 and Rhunmatoid Factor was 10 and i have a appt schedlued for Rhuemotologist. They did a MRi of my back and it shows there is loss of signal in the L4 and L5, T11-T12 and T12-L1, also buldging discs, disc protrusion and multi-level degenerative disc disease. I get sick a lot and was in hospital in april with symptoms of meningitus, but wasnt (I had meningutius 2007 so i know the symptoms) they never knew the cause, i get sick a lot, always feel tired. I have nausea and frequent migraines. Doc asked if anyone in the family has had Lupus. Does these symptoms/diagnoses mean there is something wrong, and if so what? Does it sound like it could be Lopus? Your help is greatly appeciated.

What causes a dog to bleed through the mouth? My dog has arthritis in the leg and today he started bleeding through the mouth and he died, he was at a old age (13) and i knew he would be going soon but i don’t understand why he was bleeding through the mouth.
We took him to the vet immediately, but he died

I’ve just been diagnosed with degenerative joint disease. I’m only 46 and I’ve been dealing with this pain for at least 15 years. Is it common for someone as young as me to have severe degenerative joint disease?

My niece has just been diagnosed with juvenile arthritis. They don’t know what kind yet. I didn’t even know there was more than one kind! Can you recommend a good medical website that explains this in plain English and isn’t trying to sell you quack remedies? Do you know of any family support groups for this? IS this something that will go away or that she is likely to outgrow? She has been in pain for several weeks and has missed a lot of school (no, not for snow where she lives!). She is almost 12 and hasn’t hit puberty yet. No other medical problems known, not overweight.

Any useful information?

Thanks!

**How funny, Y!A wanted to put this under politics!
