If a new medicine were developed that would cure arthritis but cause a fatal reaction in 1 percent of those who took it, would you want it to be released to the public?
Sorry it didn’t make some of you think

My dog is an Australian Shepherd mix and is about ten years old. He’s overweight, despite a healthy diet and hours of exercise every day. Recently, we’ve discovered large baseball-sized lumps in front of his hip joints, one larger than the other. They are hard, but when we feel them he doesn’t mind at all.

I have researched arthritis and dysplasia in dogs, but I’m not sure it’s either of those. We suspect he is developing the former, but neither include, to my limited knowledge, such lumps.

Does anyone have experience with this? What do you think it is?

I got it service connected in my medical records.

My friends say I am like Carl from Jimmy Neutron because….

I am slightly over weight.
I have asthma (I had it for most of my life)
I wear glasses and I am nearly blind without them (If you say why am I at a computer if I can hardly see I sit a good foot and a half from the computer)
I have a congested nose and have since November of 2006
I am allergic to apples, peaches, watermelons, plums, pears, pineapples, cucumbers, maybe oranges, cats, and shrimp.
I might have juvenile arthritis.
I have poor circulation in my legs sometimes.
Last but not least I have back issues and a mild case of scoliosis.

But unlike Carl I…

I have a very talented singing voice
I can dance
I play field hockey
I am very intelligent for my age
oh and let’s not forget
I AM A GIRL

My stepbrother and his fiance have 2 young kittens, about 15 weeks old I think. They are brother and sister, the boy all black called Tiger, and the girl black and white called Tilly. They are gorgeous, friendly, playful, just lovely cats.

But now Tilly has been diagnosed with cat arthritis, rare in a cat her age. She is in SO much pain, can hardly walk or move. It’s in her joints, and she is just in agony. My stepbrother and his fiance have been to the vets, and have paid for the treatment she needs, but she is still in pain. The treatment is very expensive too, and they aren’t sure how much longer they can afford it. They were about to insure her, but because she was diagnosed before they got round to doing it, the company won’t allow it.

What should they do? The vet has said she may have to be put down, but they don’t want that. Tilly is so young and so sweet, they just don’t want to give up on her. Help please….

I’m 20 and just found out that I have osteoarthritis in my spine. Being a regular user of cannabis, I also know that there are major cannabinoid receptors in the spine.

I also know that using cannabis relieves the symptoms that people with arthritis experience, such as the pain and swelling joints (and this is from studies and doctors’ research – not my personal experience).

So should I now not smoke for recreation, but medicinally to reduce the symptoms of my disease and to lessen it’s toll on my body?
IRIS, is your answer based off of fact at all, or are you just one of those people that thinks if someone who smokes marijuana happens to get a disease that would have been had regardless, then it was still caused by marijuana?

sooooo many says it does, is it true seniors?

My dog was put to sleep on Friday at the age of 14. He was a lovely dog but had bad arthritis in his hips.
I feel so guilty cos I wasn’t there at the end. I stupidly thought I couldn’t face it so my boyfriend held his hand for me.

I can’t stop crying. I miss him and I’m racked with guilt.

How can I get over this and how long before it gets easier? Does anyone else feel they did the wrong thing in having their pet put to sleep?

I feel like my heart has been ripped from my chest.
