My mom has it and refuses to take medication. She had tried methotrexate, but the side effects were bad (particularly reduced mental function), so she stopped taking it. Her mom takes a different medication (I don’t remember what it’s called), and she won’t try that one because you have to stop taking it if you get an infection and then you feel even worse than before, from what my grandma says.
The only “treatment” she’s willing to try is follow this super strict diet that a holistic type doctor gave her, but I’m not sure how effective it is, and she never follows it very well for very long anyways.
I’m worried about degeneration. Are there any good treatment options that don’t generally have such negative side effects?
Temporary relief or long term relief. Anyone know about home remedies or prescription pills that relieve pain from arthritis?
(hands and wrists)
If you tell someone to try a natural, organic diet free of preservatives and chemicals, they resist it, but will pop a pill of even more toxic stuff? I was in seriously poor shape two years ago with a multitude of problems, including lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, hidradenitis and thyroid problems. When I stopped eating processed food, and eliminated wheat, soy and eggs from my diet, the symptoms cleared up. I wonder why many people don’t realize the toxins that are in commercial meats, milk and processed food? All you have to do is read the label to see how bad it is!
I enjoy a lovely diet of fresh, organic veggies, rice pastas, fruits, fish, seafood, rice, quinoa, millet, flax, nuts, seeds, berries, etc. I dont feel deprived at all. Its the toxic artificially enhanced stuff that I am refering to. My diet is much more enjoyable and :”comforting” to me now, and my 12 year old is thriving on it!
I heard it did but last year my chemistry teacher told us it was popping trapped bubles of gas??? I don’t know if that’s true or not. So could someone tell me what cracking your knuckles actually does and if it contributes to arthritis or not? Thanks.

Product Description
If you don’t like Christmas stories, don’t read this one!
And if you don’t like dogs I don’t know just what to advise you to do!
For I warn you perfectly frankly that I am distinctly pro-dog and distinctly pro-Christmas, and would like to bring to this little story whatever whiff of fir-balsam I can cajole from the make-believe forest in my typewriter, and every glitter of tinsel, smudge of toy candle, crackle of wrapping paper, that my particular brand of brain.
Peace on Earth, Good-will to Dogs
Everyday for one hour she’ll feel extremely cold (shivering and shaking) and after that, it will alternate into a feel of very hot. Advil does reduce the symptoms, but does anyone know what might be going on? Many of the doctors that have been asked do not know.
Is there a cure for arthritis?
I am only 26. I had this pain before and the doctor gave me celebrex, but now it’s in a different area. I tried rubbing Ben-gay on it. not sure if it’s working.
I have degenerative arthritis in a disk in my lower back. Does anyone else have this or know someone who does? What treatments are available? Is there anything I can do to heal it, besides just treating the pain? What has worked for you?
